The Chinese New Year Has Gone To The Dogs

1922, 1934, 1946, 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006

People born in the Year of the Dog possess the best traits of human nature. They have a deep sense of loyalty, are honest, and inspire other people's confidence because they know how to keep secrets. But Dog People are somewhat selfish, terribly stubborn, and eccentric. They care little for wealth, yet somehow always seem to have money. They can be cold emotionally and sometimes distant at parties. They can find fault with many things and are noted for their sharp tongues. Dog people make good leaders. They are compatible with those born in the Years of the Horse, Tiger, and Rabbit.

You can go here for more information on the Chinese Zodiac.

We celebrated the New Year at Shimmy's mom's house with the traditional Margarita, egg rolls, and fish balls. Apparently it's also customary and good luck for the coming year to eat something green (I think it was spinach and cabbage). We had great fun learning our signs while Shimmy's mom read them out from her Mandarin book of Voodoo. I'm still convinced that the thirteenth sign was cut some years ago and that Dann was really born in the year of the Weasel...

My sun sign is Cancer; my Chinese zodiac says I'm a rat. I don't like putting "cancer" and "rat" in a sentence that referrs to me. Between the two, I'm a lab researcher's dream. May I change to being a weasel too? Please?

My sun sign is Taurus and my Chinese zodiac is an Ox which is pretty fitting since I tend to be a little stubborn. Oh and I already considered you a weasel Bruce.

Hey foolio, I forgot to tell you that I translated the packages wrongly as I was opening them and they were not fish balls! They were balls from the infamous water cow, but don't worry you have probably had worse things in your mouth. Oh wait, I think I served one a drink the other day!
